The term "BOBA" translated in the Cantonese dialect means "BIG BOOBS" Hence it has now been more commonly referred to as "Tapioca"

HAHAHAHA I figured it was something like that, but I just thought i'd have some fun with it while I figured out what it was. (not to offend any Koreans in the process) And yes, for those who have not met me i'm a white boy...
Ive had the shaved ice deal with the black balls and the pink/white flour balls in it, but no drink like that. (good old asian ex girlfriends)

Remends me of my dad telling me that he went to this store by my house (I live off of Vallry Blvd in San Gabriel) He said he ordered an ice tea and it was horribly sweet and had a light color to it. I was laughing my head off cause I knew he had got a thai ice tea...

I love this type of Boba.

Kev, go to a Korean restaurant and ask for Boba. See what happens. Boba in Korean = monkey knuckles.
Monkey Knuckles?
