Get the wilwood kit from partshelper. It's the best price/performance if you ask me.
The wilwoods are very popular with all car makes, so there are tons of different pad compounds available for cheap. Plus, they are much lighter than stock - my wilwoods were -9lbs per corner (and that's unsprung weight).
Brembos and most other brakes are all alot of money for not alot more performance (atleast, none that you'll notice unless you are the fastest driver on the track).
My wilwoods held up on the track just fine too - I even had a miata guy ask me what brakes I had because I was braking so hard at the end of the straight that he couldn't believe that my brakes were stock.

there's alot of track S2k rocking stock caliper, most people think sinple piston floating caliper sucks but i found them working pretty well even with some heat build up.
what stop the car is the tires, get some better rubber and you'll be surprise how much more braking is there already. Larger caliper and disk does increase brake torque and thermal capacity, which is great for extended heavy use on the track, but it not a sure bet it will stop faster/shorter.
i hard to answer you with a question but yeah, it's ulimately breaks down to what you want to do and how deep is the pocket.
