Giff, you really need to learn how to slam your car like Kel and I. Last time i went to westend, darin said he slammed my camber all the way negative and could achieve more than -3 in the front and -5 in the rear . BTW i almost got stuck getting off his alignment machine .

My understanding is that lower is not necessarily better. You get past a point where you are in the outer range of the suspension movement (geometry) and might also be limited by your shocks too as Giff said (I'm no expert but this is what I've picked up from others). Stinky, maybe that's why your car slides so much? Not enough compliance? Hitting a berm with a very slammed car might not be good either (besides control issues, things tend to bend or break).

I should add that I am running -3.1* front/-2.6* rear camber on my street-track car, and there is excessive wear on the inside of the front tires. So there is a trade-off for the street but good for the track. (For track only my racecar has -4.1 front/-3.6 rear).

I like my settings so far. I was still getting alot of outside wear on my RA1's last time. Conservative offsets are nice because you don't have to worry about bending your fenders.

My car's not slammed. I tried to set the ride height within the shocks suggested work range? Unfortunately the instructions are in german but I used the heights that gfactor used in his install. Darin told me he was surprised he got that much out of my car. You have camber kits on front and back right richard?

Richard, thats interesting you're running more camber in the front than you are in the rear. Is that because you run 275's in the rear? I think i figured out why my car was sliding so much before.

1) My preload settings were totally off
2) Hankook tires suck!
9) 16kg/mm (around 900lbs/in) springs all around is too stiff for street tires. I'm probably going to pick some softer spring rates for street tires and keep my 16kgs for when i get r-compounds.

I adjusted my car's height and preload according to tein's reference value and with my rims it came out to be about a half finger gap in the rear and a tight finger gap in the front. Car feels much better and the oversteer is very predictable even though i'm using non-staggered rims. Really wish i could make it out to streets next month, we'll see.

I should also add that my alignment settings are:

Front:
Camber -2.5
Toe 0

Rear:
Camber -2.75
Toe 1/4" in

I forgot what my caster settings were. Its been awhile since my last alignment, i need to go back to darin. I wish he offered some sort of lifetime alignment deal. I like the idea of getting a fresh alignment before every track event .

I think if darin went lifetime he would lose money off alot of us freaks. I'd go in for alignments before and after every track day! taht way i can save tirewear on the street..

Yeah hahaha.

So when you call in to arrange your alignment schedule:

"Hey Darin, i'd like to schedule an alignment on may 12, may 15, may 19, and may 21"

I knew what you meant richard. I was just talking about offsets. My street wheels are too low on offset to have my car lower. Last time when I went off my muffler bolts sheered off when I hit a berm.
