See, I was already mistaken though, I thought that all of the kart classes had the shifters. Yes I am a newbie to these kind of karts, but I have taken a kart racing school when Malibu Grand Prix was open in San Diego. I actually ran the 3'rd fastest laptime in the track's history on one of the smaller karts when I was 14. I was one of the only kids they were letting drive the full size karts. I know there are always people out there that will smoke me, but I still believe that having the best setup is the best idea, no matter what class I enter. What brands would you guys suggest I look into, and what class would you suggest? I want to get into a class that I wont be at the top of in a year and have to spend another 6 or 7 grand on a new kart. Are there any racetracks in San Diego that I can go check out the racing action at?
