The kart does have the Mitox chassis. It is great! Lots of rear-end grip.

[B]I think my best time looking at my instruments (still learning the darn thing) is either a 54 or a 51 - this is something like 8 secs a lap slower than the shifters are doing. I think I heard the guy that got 1st last year running a 46 sec lap today.

I hear ya about the powerband. The Rotax has a powervalve that opens at 7500 RPM like VTEC. Works pretty sweet, below 7500 RPM the valve is shut to help with torque for coming out of corners. When exhaust gas pressure builds enough to overcome the spring the valve opens and you are optimized for HP. That valve opening makes VTEC look like childs play. Don't ever get that valve to open in a tight corner or you are going around for a spin!
A few lessons I learned the hard way I give to you for free!
1. Check every single bolt and nut every single time before you go out. With all the vibration in a kart those suckers work loose fast!
2. Make sure your drive gear and axle sprocket are aligned dead nuts. Put a straightedge on the drive gear and slide the axle sprocket around until you are exactly inline. Don't ask me how I learned this.
3. Use electricians tape just inboard of your hubs to see if your hubs are sliding around. I wish I would have done this the first time.
When you heading out to practice next? I am thinking about heading out to Willow either later this week or early next week for another shakeout session.

Yea, we've done Dromo, but for the bunk karts that you can get there, and the small course, the $25 just isn't worth it anymore.

Seriously, the HPV100 and 125cc karts (Rotax and shifter) to a Dromo1 would be like comparing your 1974 Pinto Station wagon with your 2001 Ferrari 360 Modena with racing slicks. It is fairly drastic. Although, I am talking out of the side of my head as I have never tried Dromo1. I have tried Malibu A LOT as well as the KT100 karts at Jim Hall. The KT100s were kind of slow also - though very fun!
For the experience that Dromo1 gives you, it is fairly valuable - it sure as hell worked for Jun. He did awesome. Sorry dude that you are now hooked on karts. I warned you!!! Sell your F4 and get a Vortex or RotaxMax -
Still sore from Sunday!
