totally random thread but.. OK!

this weekend's fine eating:

Ludobites @ Breadbar:
http://www.laweekly.com/eat+drink/counter-...ry-tapas/17618/
the house bread basket, prosciutto plate with honey combs + marscapone, scallops in light yogurt curry, braised pork in saffron sauce. panna cotta topped w/ caviar. Friday was last day of Ludo staging at Breadbar; he was on fire, greeting everyone and prepping everything.

Saturday nite, re-opened Hungry Cat: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-hungry-cat-los...ry:hungry%20cat
sat at the new raw bar, had 2 oysters, followed by near-tempura battered oysters w/ house made remoulade, followed by a red snapper ceviche w/ hydro-cress and pomelo, finally followed by the Pug burger. chatted with the 2 station chef/cooks and had a chameleon cocktail. could not have had a better meal.

Sunday nite, 1 month old Terroni: http://la.eater.com/archives/2007/11...sh_terroni.php
sick SICK Neapolitan style pizzas. closest i've had to Italy. The Puzza white pie (thinly shaven ham, mozz + marscapone cheese) was the finest pizza we had in LA this year. beef carpaccio app was perfectly flavored with huge chunks of parm and the cheese stuffed artichoke? was a fluffy creamy work of foodpr0n. packed on a Sunday with shoppers from Grove, zilch service but none of us cared.

if anyone's bored enough, i have full sets of pix from all 3

How is the Derby?
Great. Steeped with horseracing tradition (Santa Anita). Once owned by the jockey, George Wolff.
