WARNING: Angeles Crest radar speed trap
I haven't posted in this forum for awhile, but I'll break my silence for this:
Monday we drove up Angeles Crest. On the way back down, about three miles south of the Mt. Wilson cutoff, my Passport 9500 instantly lights up full toot. Immediately around a curve is a CHP on a bike with a radar gun hiding behind some rocks. No warning. He pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for 62 in a 45 and no front plate. He claimed he got me with his radar gun, but I think that's BS. I slowed down before I saw him. I think he saw me slowing down. He must have found a group of rocks with the geometry that can defeat the radar detector warning window. Be careful.
