Default WARNING: Angeles Crest radar speed trap

I haven't posted in this forum for awhile, but I'll break my silence for this:

Monday we drove up Angeles Crest. On the way back down, about three miles south of the Mt. Wilson cutoff, my Passport 9500 instantly lights up full toot. Immediately around a curve is a CHP on a bike with a radar gun hiding behind some rocks. No warning. He pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for 62 in a 45 and no front plate. He claimed he got me with his radar gun, but I think that's BS. I slowed down before I saw him. I think he saw me slowing down. He must have found a group of rocks with the geometry that can defeat the radar detector warning window. Be careful.

I'm sorry George.....that sux. Can they hide behind rocks? I thought they had to be "in plain view" to not be entrapment.......?

Yeah, they do it all the time, Mike. I may fight it. It's Pasadena court.

Sorry to hear about the ticket George. I think it was more than an Angeles Crest thing, the CHP was out in force all over Califoronia last weekend.
