Long story short I want to swap my AP2 gears for either 4.44 or 4.56/7 gears.

Now my question is:

What is the most effective way to do this, while saving money? I don't need a reinforced Diff that's indestructible, etc bla bla. I track the car but don't abuse my diff. Do fluid swaps regularly and never had a problem. All I want is to replace the gears with the higher ones.

Where do you take your car to have them installed?
What did it cost?
Satisfied with the work/customer service?
Where'd you purchase your gears? (And I assume yellowbox for speedo re-calibration.

What did it cost? $300 + i brought new oem parts (seals, bearings, pinion nut, washers, etc...)
Satisfied with the work/customer service? Yes, it took 6-7 hours though.
Where'd you purchase your gears? Online (4.77)

Where did you purchase you 4.77 gears from? I hear the Kia gears/Mazda gears aren't meant to be used in the S2000? Do I need to consider any of these factors? How many miles on the diff since the swap?

Looks like Evasive's pricing is more than fair for the labor. How much did the Seals/bearings/pinion nut and washers all run up to?

I hear the Kia gears/Mazda gears aren't meant to be used in the S2000? As long as you dont launch it, it should be fine. Any diff will break if you abuse it. I had mine cryo-treated for peace of mind. Chris (F20Kills) had 4.77 Kia gears too and he never cryo-treated his and he said it was still good when he removed it eventhough he tracks his car. i suggest using a Diff fluid rated 75-110 or 75-140.

How many miles on the diff since the swap? 5,000 miles. im using LE607.

So somehow they perfectly mesh with our gears? Seems highly unlikely or do you replace both sides of the gears?

Generally gearing for vehicles with solid axles is 400-500 for labor. Ranges greatly.

However, I met a dude that does it for $150 plus parts!!!!! He'll be doing my Jeep for sure and probably my S2K if I like the work. I'm going for taller gears though.

for our cars, we replace both the Ring gear and Pinion gear together.

Ive had my 4.77 gears for over 2 years now. Track days, highway, canyon drives, city driving with no issues what so ever. Im still using my original housing with no cryo treatment. I bought my 4.77s through hardtop guy and had them installed at a reputable shop.
