Venice Beach:

For Itallian food I suggest C&O's Trattoria http://www.cotrattoria.com It's right next to the beach so you can take a nice walk before or after dinner. Don't get this confused with their other location C&O Cuccina which is on the same street but a couple miles inland.

There's another restaurant across the street called the Whaler that has a nice outdoor patio bar to hang out at. Their food is pretty good too. http://www.venicewhaler.com/

Culver City/ Sepulveda: - Here are some restaurants that are probably closer to where you're staying that are good.

El Rincon Criollo - Cuban food http://www.bestcubanfood.com/

Pho Show - Decent Vietnamese food http://www.phoshow.net/

Johnnies Pastrami - Good pastrami sandwiches and hot dogs http://www.johnniespastrami.com/

Tito's Tacos - It's a popular taco restaurant with a cult like following but I think their taco's are horrible. http://titostacos.com/

Cinco De Mayo tacos - Next door to Tito's Taco's and Johnnies Pastrami. It's a mexican dive restaurant but I like their food and they're open 24hrs. http://www.urbanspoon.com/cities/5-l...o-de-mayo/menu

Downtown Culver City: There are a lot of good places to eat here as well as a theater http://www.downtownculvercity.com/

I suggest trying Honey's Kettle - Good fried chicken http://www.honeyskettle.com/

Hope this helps.
Used to live in culver city. Yes , Tito's taco & johnnies pastrami def spots to hit up.

A couple of my faves and friends:

Bottega Louie - great for lunch in DTLA. A bit on the loud environment. Fantastic macarons. http://www.yelp.com/biz/bottega-loui...dRI3N_j_SMZptQ

Seven Grand - great place to get your drinking pants on. The best whiskey drinks. http://www.yelp.com/biz/seven-grand-...S1LUgRFvkqsTZA

Bestia - Great Italian http://www.yelp.com/biz/bestia-los-a...gsDpUSUeX06Z5A

Cut - for a great steak http://www.yelp.com/biz/cut-beverly-...cut+steakhouse

Also Mastros is a fine place for a steak. http://www.yelp.com/biz/mastros-stea...cut+steakhouse

You really can't go wrong in LA for food. There's so much to choose from.

Oh yeah. +1 for Mama D's and C&O. Garlic balls FTW.

How long will you be staying out here? There are a ton of places to see around LA, but if you're staying longer, a drive up the PCH to the Santa Barbara area, or down to Orange County should definitely be a part of the plan. ALso, +1 for C&O's for Italian and Mastros for steaks!

+1 for everything RMurphy said

1) Dollar Taco on Inglewood and Lennox near LAX has some bomb tacos that are just $1. open from 7pm-1/2am most nights

2) The Coffee Company near LAX airport on Sepulveda has GREAT pancakes and AMAZING biscuits. Seriously gotta have breakfast there.

3) FREEBIRDS for it's scrumptious burritos that are amazing. Amazing. Just amazing.

4) In-n-out. I mean seriously. If you leave without having it once, you never really visited LA.

I work in culver city near sepulveda. There's some good places to eat in Marina del Rey also, which is close by. I recommend Tony P's. Bar and grille with outdoor seating overlooking the yachts.

Was in OC over weekend and visited this place for first time. Donuts are savory! Red velvet was greatl.. Well, they all were . Only downside was that it was crowded.
