Default Visiting L.A. - Suggestions?

Ok so long story short, I won a trip to Los Angeles to see a movie premiere. I'll be there for 3 days, 2 nights with my wife (Monday-Wednesday). I want to make the most of my time while in the area. Any tips, suggestions or recommendations of what to see, where to go, or what to eat would be great! I'm from the east coast (CT) and have never been to Cali. Appreciate your time! Thanks.

I'm from CT myself. Be prepared to be spoiled by the weather. If you like Ramen, Daikokuya in Little Tokyo is the spot.

Take your rental car to Mulholland Highway (not Drive... you want Highway) and drive it west from Las Virgenes Road all the way to Pacific Coast Highway. Check out the Rock Store on the way and take pictures at the top of The Snake at the overlook. Continue west to where it ends at PCH. Then turn right (go north) and have a meal at Neptune's Net and pretend you're in one of the FF movies. Head south on PCH towards Santa Monica. If you see a Ferrari near Trancas Canyon Road, smoke 'em.

There are tons of roads in the Malibu area that are both beautiful and fun, but if you can only choose one, do Mulholland Highway to PCH.

If you want a couple hours guided tour of that area, let me know when you plan to be here and have a morning free to do that. I can see if I can arrange my schedule so I have no client work that day and I can show you some of the best driving roads and scenery in Malibu. It really is worth it.

Obviously, there is no way you'll be able to see everything there is to see in all of Los Angeles (there simply is too much!), but coastal LA in the summer is a must. It's the stuff you see on TV.

Fathers office in Culver city
Perch rooftop bar (beautiful view of downtown)
Foo foo Tei Ramen in Hacienda is actually one of the best, or Silverlake Ramen
Egg Slut

At In&Out get your moneys worth.. Order a 4x4 animal style, with animal style fries, and make sure your burger has grilled onions.

Wow! Thank you so much for the time you took to make that post. I'm definitely going to look everything over and talk to my wife about what we want to prioritize since our time is so limited. I'd really like to see some of what you suggested for sure tho. Thanks again!

Have they given you an itinerary yet -- like where they are flying you into (like LAX or Burbank), where the premiere will be, or where they are putting you up? Three days and two nights is kind of whirlwind and you may find you only have one morning to really do anything any distance from your hotel. So let's say they fly you in Monday, you arrive at LAX and maybe your hotel is in Hollywood so you spend pretty much all day Monday traveling and the only time you'll have Monday night is to check in and find food nearby. Now, if the premiere is also in Hollywood (maybe at Hollywood and Highland area) on Tuesday night, then you can take off for a few hours Tuesday morning to sight-see. You can pick one direction and that's all you will have time to cover, really. Traffic being what it can be here, you'll need to decide if you want to do westside, Hollywood/downtown, museum row, or the foothills in Pasadena area/San Gabriel Valley. And then if you fly out Wednesday, well, you won't have much time for sightseeing that day unless it's on the way to the airport (which is doable if you decide you want to go through Santa Monica and head to the airport by way of surface streets through Venice, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, and Westchester). The good news is you can hit up In-N-Out burger near the airport. Whoever chose that location knew the tourists and the people coming back from time away from LA would head there first!
