I hope the fires die down. I've been watching them on the news and west of Valencia is really bad. If it's still going when the winds switch from westerly to easterly, maybe they'll just turn around and go out since they already burned the fuel.

Mike, I've lived here, about 20 miles from Valencia for 22 years. The wind is always changing directions by 180*. I'm lucky it's blowing off shore right now, so the smoke isn't gagging me. It's been cold enough here with the 3,000 ft elevation and constant wind that I turned on the heaters in the house, for the first time since last winter, today. It's close to 90* at the beach and I've got the heater set on 68* to warm up the house.
