Default Is this VAFC install normal? (So Cal)

I just installed my VAFC today, I spliced the wires to my ecu. After the install, I set all the initial settings to the ones recommended. I don't have a check engine light, BUT The weird thing is my idle is weird, It bobs up and down from 800 to 1000rpm. I drove my car into vtec, and everything is good, but when I'm stopped, the car idles like its a race engine. The idle is terrible, I look at the vafc Monitor function, and see its bobbing up and down from 800 to 1000rpms. Is this normal for all VAFC users? I checked my wiring and everything seems in accordance to the manual. But just to be sure, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE COLORS OF THE WIRES we're supposed to spice into in the ECU. I don't want to buy a harness, cause I'm broke, but I bought a soldering gun. I realized its hard to solder in that tight spot near the kick panel though. Can anyone give me some suggestions on returning my idle to regular, it was never like this before I installed my VAFC. I have checked all scenarios including: Tapping the map sensor with a screwdriver, unplugging the back up fuse to reset the ECU, any more advice would be really great! I need some help! All 411 would be greatly appreciated! Anyone here have a VAFC'd car in santa monica? Show me your wire hookups Thanks

I can suggest one thing and the best thing to do. Everyone will agree with me.

BRING YOUR CAR TO ULTIMATE LURKERS SHOP (SHAWN CHURCH AUTOMOTIVE).

He is a wizard at tuning and fixing any problem what-so-ever. PM him at ULTIMATE LURKER or below is his temp. web address.

Hope this helps you!

hey mark, its chris...

well with all honest opinion, unless of course you already have previous experience with soldering, i would never recommend splicing into your stock ecu harness on your own. you really should have paid someone else to do the install or wait and save money for a harness.

you can go to ultimate lurkers place and have him tune the vafc and look over the wiring job for you or head out to Temple City and go to Auto Link where my friend works.

but most likely i think the install is all good, just the vafc needs to be tuned. its a bitch to tune and takes some time but once done right the results are quite satisfying.

Today, I spent 2 hours, rewiring my VAFC to the ECU, I bought a butane Soldering Iron from Radio Shack, that thing is crazy! I heated up the wires, and added solder to the wires to fuse them. Everyone should get one of these, I learned how to use it in 10 mins. My VAFC is fixed, everything is PERFECT! Oh yeah, I learned my lesson, NEVER EVER CRIMP ANYTHING TO THE ECU, ALWAYS ALWAYS SOLDER WIRES to the ECU!!! THanks for the great suggestions still! =) mark
