I got this done today and it turned out pretty nice, but I'll give it two days for the weld to settle in and see how it really sounds, I'll make a video for a follow up. I went with the 1.75 inches, Ace Muffler said that's the biggest they can go for it. I was charged $80 for the job.

Had a civic si muffler welded on. Si muffler's inlet diameter matches the s2k exhaust diameter before the Y split. Very minor increase in base, but that muffler is only 11 lbs so tons of weight savings. Windows have to be down to notice the difference. Fwy speeds and vtec sound identical to stock.

Here's a video that shows different sized pipes used for this mod

Might consider getting mine done as well.

EDIT: 38mm=roughly around 1.5in

and 44mm=1.75in (rounded up)

So I called up Royal Muffler in Chatsworth, and they no longer do it (something about to much work and not enough $$) , which is sad because I live down the street from there. anyone know anywhere else that does this mod?

head down to Orange county =_ $60 bucks FTW. some other place I went to before I went to ace wanted 200... I was like um, heck no. As for the piping 1.5inch is the way to go. Didn't feel like paying close to 700 bucks for hks high powered dual that maybe would be a little better, but with no real increase in performance. This gets it a little growlier,(not a word I know), no drone, no one to bug me when doing smog checks... I'm a happay happay happay camper.

Where would you suggest to go in the OC? 60$ is a deal I just couldn't pass up even if it is a little bit of a drive. Thanks for the heads up I was wondering about what size piping to get too. the guys in Chatsworth were tying to tell tell me that it could take hours and the rate is 80$ an hour... Seems like it shouldn't be more than an hour job for a trained hand right?
