...and I'll take some pencils if it's not too much to ask.

Here's what I want to know. Why didn't we get any hookups on 2010 Census SWAG?

From the OCR:
There were a staggering 65.2 millionpromotional items given away – mugs, T-shirts, water bottles, pencils, printed materials, etc.

I'd like a couple mugs, a few t-shirts, and some water bottles -- it is my tax money aint it?
There were plenty given out at community events over the past year. I was at several of the events to promote the job availability. These trinkets go like hot cakes. The mini-footballs, mugs, and tumblers were gone within 5 minutes after bringing it out.

Unfortunately, most, if not all of the materials have been given out already. And don't worry about me taking some. Census employees don't get them, plus I don't want them. They're promotional items to increase awareness.

went to their orientation yesterday at the santa ana office. good stuff.

I don't know if I'll be able to work though, their training days are 4 days in a row and I have school 2 days of them.

Congratulations! Definitely try and just skip class for the 2 days. If you must attend class, speak to your crew leader about it and you may be able to attend the make up training the week after for those days (which will probably fall on the same days you have the same classes again). What city do you live? I may know your crew leader.

Oh cool. See what you can do about class then, I suppose. It will be paid training too, so not too bad.
