Two women killed in crash on 241 Toll Road
It's not even safe to take the toll roads these days. Be careful out there. Seems like there's been an unusually high amount of car accidents / deaths in the last few months.
From the OC Reg...
Two women died in a fiery crash Wednesday after one of them drove the wrong way on the southbound lanes at the toll booth on Foothill (241) Toll Road near Anaheim Hills and collided with a Jeep Cherokee, officials reported.
Both vehicles burst into flames, killing the drivers at the scene, California Highway Patrol officer David Ferrer said.
A woman in a red Cadillac reportedly went the right way on the toll road initially but became lost and got turned around, officials said.
Witnesses reported the Cadillac traveling the wrong way at the toll road and Windy Ridge Toll Plaza at about 1:45 p.m., Ferrer said.
Drivers who have a transponder use the FasTrak lanes.
"The driver's view may have been skewed going uphill, and there's a chance the driver may not have seen until last second and couldn't evade," CHP Officer Rolf Trondsen said.
The woman in the Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on the toll road when it crashed into the Cadillac.
The victims' identities were not disclosed.
Tragic.

Sucks.
As an aside, I wonder which vehicle was responsible for "bursting into flames"... which, as far as I know, only really happens in the movies nowadays...
