Default Tire Fitment Question

I currently run 235-45-17 all around on my 17x9's (bought them like that) and I need tires soon! Would i be ok with 255-40-17 in the rear? Will that look funny from the side view? I just don't want the front to look fatter than the rear (fwd look).

Will I now encounter under/oversteer?

Anyone have pics of such setup?

Thanks,

Jc

Right now you have a neutral setup. By actually running the 255 in the rear your car will handle more like stock.

run 255 rear and the 235 front.

you might have a rubbing issue but that depends on your offset.

you need to be careful though, are you rear fenders rolled? some ppl run 235 in the rear instead of a 255 because they did not want to roll their fenders. the 235 gives more clearance. Iono what kind of wheels & offset you have, but anything as aggressive or more aggressive than a 17x9+45 in the rears will need a fender roll + relocated bumper tab + neg camber.

And running the 235/45 in the front w/ the 255/40 in the rear will mean the fronts have a higher AR, but probably won't be that noticeable.

I'm running 17x9 +45 rpf1's and im lowered on tein s-tech koni yellows with the lower perch setting..... about 1.25 all around.

I have 235-45-17 all around right now. When i first put them on I rubbed up front and slightly in the rear depending on the dip. Since then i have rolled all 4 corners + slight flare up front + relocated bumper tab in rear and running stock camber.....(dont want to eat thru my tires.

Thanks guys! Good feedback

run 255 all around. Get a good alignment. Camber doesn't effect tire wear as much as toe does. You're fine.

Enjoy manly tire sizes ~_^

I'm scared to run a 255 and crush a fender! im pretty dumped as it is look at the front of my car and how the front tucks already!

looks like you have a nice drop. you can run 255 if you have the fronts pulled a good amount. can't tell how much they are pulled though. Do you track your car at all? what kind of handling are you looking for? if you don't track and don't care much about the front tire size, just stick w/ your 235 for clearance purposes. 255 up front will give you more oversteer as opposed to a 235f/255r setup.
