Time Warner Cable said Thursday evening that customers across much of California had been left without Internet service.
In an online chat session with The Times, a company support analyst said shortly after 7 p.m. that the outage had lasted about two hours. He said the outages were reported from Northern California to San Diego.
He said the problem appeared to be with Time Warner's central Internet connection. There was no estimate on when service would be restored, the analyst said.

For our non-technical brothers and sistas, the US Gov't has worldwide control over the naming system for websites. Say the DHS decides S2ki.com is un-American. They can direct the organization responsible for web site names (ICANN) to redirect traffic from S2ki.com to their own servers. If you love freedom, you can see the problem.
