Default Thursday Night

We are entering the time for the annual Geminid meteor shower.
They appear this year to come from the area where Mars is and no moon.

I hope the marine layer stays away.

If you seriously want to do this, on December 13, between 10 PM and 2 AM go to a dark sky place, like Vasquez Rocks off the 14 between the 5 and Palmdale, really bundle up, bring a thermos of coffee, and lay down on a chaise lounge and just look directly overhead. Allow time for your eyes to adjust to the darkness.

The Meteor shower did show up and it was a nice light show. I sat in the hot tub and counted over 20 before I stopped counting. That was in a 45 minute period between 3:30 and 4:15.
