For those that are self-employed
every time i think about health insurance, i get huge headaches...
for those of you that are self-employed like i am, how are you using for health? if anyone at all.
right now i am with kaiser and with the addition of our new child, their raised the premium 50%!
i want to see what other options are out there...

You do realize all they do is act as a broker. They are basically going through the same health insurance carriers like you are now but if you go through them they will get a commission or GA override from the insurance carrier. Costco doesn't determine the cost, it is all base on age, zip, health history and if they want to accept or decline is all from the insurance carrier.
But, individual insurance is a bitch. Unless your a corporation with at least 2 people on your DE6 then you can get a a group plan. Then they can't decline you for any medical reasons and typical rates and coverages are better

Same thing, you can get a individual plan and you can add your spouse and child as a dependent. I just say that because I worked for a insurance company and
But if your not sure if you qualify or not, you can just goto Costco or your local health insurance agent and they can explain or see if you qualify for a group plan. Looking at costco website looks like they work with Aetna and United Healthcare/PacifiCare. Your local agent may have markets.
