They are having a fight!
SBC recently launched a 14.95 for DSL, and gained many customers. Verzion is now counter punching with: "Verizon DSL's current offer gives you your first month free, then $15/month afterwards."
Cox. You KNOW you need to lower your prices sooner or later, because DSL is WHHHOPING your butt, and now Directv and Dish is going to do the same...

hmmmmm....$21 OTD a month sure doesn't sound too bad. I'll have to look into that. Thanks BC!

Too bad there's nothing for us "hard core" users. We have 6.0/768 here at home with Speakeasy. Static IPs too. $119.00/month. While it's high, it's the cheapest I've found.
I just want the fast pipe and a static IP. I run all my own crap. Verizon gave me a business line before in the early days of DSL, and we had the best arrangement: They let me do anything I want (provided it's legal) and I never call them for anything, except when the line goes down.
Speakeasy did the same with me: running your own servers is fine with them. That and 4x the bandwidth at $20 less per month than Verizon.
