A friend of mine received a DUI outside of CA. She took care of all of the fines, court fees/appearances, and classes, but recently found out that her CA license is suspended. Apparently the CA DMV will not recognize the classes and other mandatory fees she paid out of state and requires her to retake classes here in CA.

Is it really true that she needs to pay for and attend these classes again? I would imagine they would accept completion of the classes from anywhere. BTW she has completed the classes and currently has an SR-22. Is there a way to overrule this?

I'm currently attending DUI classes and think I heard someone once mention the same case, and is now retaking the classes, I really doubt you can overrule this if DMV already ordered this, she's also most likely gonna have to get the breathalizer as well, new rule they started this year for anyone who gets a DUI.
