Default Surprisingly high paying jobs.

This thread is somewhat inspired by the Racer Chick thread in the gallery, and the fact that all my friends that didn't go through college are currently employed making around 35k a year.
I have another friend (I compare him to Kramer from Seinfeld) who barely made it through high school is making more money than all of us working as a Sheriff. (65k-70k)

Here I am fresh out of college and starving to find a job, yes the degree has qualified me for more jobs, but a large percentage are looking for experience.

Lately I've been hearing about so many jobs that pay a lot more money than I thought. For example: Many don't even require college educations.

Photographer: 150k-200k
Some photographers I work with bring in this much.

Shoe Salesman: 150-250k
Nordstrom, Niemans, Beverly Hills dept stores shoe salesperson. House in the Hollywood Hills by selling shoes!

Trucker with 4 rigs: 300k
Long haul trucking company, CA to NY. I had no idea a job like being a trucker would be so profitable.

World Financial Group: 250k+
Multilevel marketing financial services
The person I worked under brought in that much, but I hated the job (and some of the people) too much. It was like walking into a used car dealership everyday.

Anyone else hear of other jobs/careers that paid a lot more than you thought?
Also for the older S2Ki members, how was your career search after college?

what the hell are you talking about ?
I applied at Bloomingdales in the Beverly center 7 months ago and they were offering a starting pay of $15 per hour. In 6 months it would raise to $20.
I then went to Nieman Marcus and they offered me $17.50 .
BTW, Fred Segal pays $21.00 . And when I say "offered" I am reffering to how much they give all new employees.

Were you reffering to working at these stores 24/7 ?

Oh and BTW, bomb disposal is very well paying. I dont think a college degree is required.
You work 3 days a week doing simulations and training and get called out for a real emergency every 2 months.
Pay ? starting @ 75k and can double in less than 1 year.
I wanted to do it but my father told me it would be over his grave.

Working at Nordstrom is strictly based on commission.
If your a good salesperson I could definitely see a person pulling over 100K.

I'm not 100% sure but I've heard that the commission in women's shoes is somewhere just north of 10% of the cost to the consumer.

Then all you need to do is sell a million dollars in shoes.
