Default Surfing and S2k Ownership

How do you guys get your boards around? I've gotten through most of the capacity hang-ups with an s2k in the last 2-3 years of ownership. However, I just picked up surfing again and am trying to figure out a way to get to surfing while keeping the s2k.

I'm a 1-man show and multiple cars is not possible. I live in santa monica and make 1 parking spot work for my car and motorcycle.

Maybe remove the trim panels and the passenger seatback, and let it stick out the trunk?

I live next to the beach in the marina and actually saw an s2k leaving with a surfboard tied to the roof (with the top up). However, I don't really think that's the greatest idea...

Is there you could take a hitch ski rack and make that work for a surfboard? That seems like the most elegant solution to me. Either that or just shove it in the passenger's seat with the top down.

I've always wanted to try this method with a hardtop, but I havent been surfing in 10 years...
Of course I wouldnt recommend any s2k owner to try it, i thought it would be worth a shot lol

Good luck. Unless you try to stick it out the passenger side with the top down (hope it's a short board).

If you live somewhat close to the beach you should just get a bike with a side rack.

Let me know if it works in the s2 haha. I just always borrow my roommates truck or bike.

I used those on my Civic all the time. Never had an issue. But the hatchback roof was definietly longer and I was able to run it through the back windows on the civic.
