I can always make $750k, but not if I'm dead. I guess it's noble, but the easy way out all at the same time.

now they have to grow up fatherless.....
could of put the pride on the side, lost the house and live like bums for a few years.
try to rebuild it.
would of taught the kids some things about life.
how difficult things can get and then how to overcome them.

now all they will remember is how tough the economy got and how their father killed himself.

its true, $750,000 isnt much.... so sad

like sal stated, if i were the wife, i couldnt live with myself if i were handed the money under those circumstances but i guess she has no choice since he would have died in vain...
so true...

the family could have learned and grown together through the hardships...

the kids would have seen the struggles and learned life lessons.

Very tragic and sad.

However, sucicide is the most selfish thing a person can do.

What about all your friends who care for you?
What about his children/wife?
What about his parents spending all that time, money, and love to raise a child?

moron.

My wife's uncle did this.......................

His name was " Uncle Pete " .... he was "cleaning his guns on the table " when he "accidentally shot himself in the head " Everyone including his family believed it was indeed an accident but my mother in-law got a note a week later (or some days I can't remember exactly) from.... Pete. It asked not to tell anyone but that there was no accident, instead he had too many issues going on in life/work/etc. and he felt that the best thing he could do for the family was to end his life for the insurance money.....

Well...... they got nothing because my wife's mother couldn't bare the situation and felt it was wrong for her sister to live in some false world so she told her the truth, and the insurance company was notified by her aunt so no payout was received.

I never got to meet " Uncle Pete " but I always thought we would have got along great from what I heard about the guy. Bummers. In any case, horrible thing to do to your family, not worth the money at all.

Damn, why'd they tell the insurance company? I'm not sayin lie to keep the money, but atleast don't let the man die for nothing

Was just on yahoo and a guy in Porter Ranch, which is close to my place, killed his family and himself over financial problems (6 people dead).. he left 3 notes, but of course officials wouldnt go into it. just thought this was an odd story of VERY bad decision making when hard times hit.
