I have lived through it and know first hand. Have couple of bikes now, but all garaged, and I seldom go places where I have to leave it unattended for a while.
Learned my lesson the hard way. Got my yellow/black gixxer 750 stolen 2 years ago. It had 43 miles on the odo, no plates, brand spanking new!
Only rode it back from the dealer, before it got stolen the next day
Imagine how bad that was!!
Bike thieves and all thieves suck, hope they all burn.

I wouldn't even know what I would do if I were to have a new bike stolen from me after a day of ownership. Shit owning a bike for 2 years and getting it jacked will still mess me up.
