Thumbs up Steering question.

i have a 05 GPW s2k of course, i had the alignment done a whilw back. Afte the alignment was done the steering wheel felt not as stiff as it use to.
Now my question, Is there anyway to make stiffer and have any one ever had this problem. Thanx

That's funny. I had my '05 Suzuka aligned and my steering got stiffer. I like stiff steering. Are you confident in who ever did your alignment?

Caster affects steering weight.... more equals heavier/stiffer. Sounds like you now have less caster than you did before, and maybe less than spec which is close to max.

No, but spec is close to max, at least in the earlier models. What were the final alignment readings (often they give you a print-out)?

the thing is that i took it to the dealer in glendale and they were stupid enough to tell that the specs on the Ap1 will do for the AP2. So i took to the dealer in hollywood and i compared them an its way off. So they are going to do alignment in hollywood and i just dont want them to tell me that by adjusting the caster it will give me problems with my alignment. u wouldn happen to have the specs would you.

If your car is only street-driven (not track or autocross), then I would just have them do alignment to 2005 specs (I don't know what the 2005 specs are of if they are different from earlier years). There are lots of threads on alignment if you do a search, but probably not necessary if you just drive on street.
