Should be in your ticket. Just write a TBD, the odds of the officer responding are low to begin with.

I want to say in WA state it was 1 mile. I've no idea in CA the official length or if that exists as a set amount rather than what the judge deems "reasonable". Might be worth looking that up. If you see him come from some on-ramp etc. it's then easy to prove.

I went to the law library for the same ticket. The law says that the officer has to pace you for a minimum of two miles. This was 15 years ago, it might have changed.

FYI, I lost that ticket, he knew to pace me for more than two miles.
