Speed Ventures S2000 Challenge Series - Buttonwillow 11-15-2002!
Please note: As mentioned in the body below, we have changed the track configuration (by popular demand) to Race 1, Clockwise. This is the same config we ran in January, and many of our S2000 drivers asked us to run this again so they could see their improvement over the course of the year.
And now, back to the announcement:
Friday at Buttonwillow; November 15th, 2002
Price: $125 ( + $20 instructor fee required for novices )
Duration: 1 day 2.5 hours of track time per group!**
Track: Buttonwillow Raceway (near Bakersfield)
Registration: Registration is open at http://speedventures.net/11-15-2002_event.asp
Event Info:
At 3 miles, Buttonwillow is the longest and most technical track in the Los Angeles area. With twenty-three turns, three major elevation changes, the banked "Riverside" sweeper, and a perfect drift over "Lost Hill" (AKA "Magic Mountain"), Buttonwillow offers both a unique learning environment, and a challenge to advanced drivers. By popular demand, we will be running race configuration #1, clockwise, as highlighted in yellow below. This is the same configuration we ran in January, and many drivers want to use this opportunity to compare their times from that event. This track is suitable for street cars, though we suggest that the Riverside turn should be approached at conservative speeds of 70-80 mph in cars without race rollover protection. The remainder of the turns on this track are moderate-speed (35 - 70mph). Turns have wide runoff areas, clear of major obstacles.
There will be three run groups at this event, and registration is limited to keep traffic light.
Bonus: We will be offering dyno pulls at this event, as we did at the last. The cost is $35 for a single pull. If interested, simply mention it in the "comments" field of the registration form.
