A few people I know just picked up some Panerais, but that is probably a bit to expensive if you're looking for a first watch.

what so good about those? i need mo blang blang.
Panerai was founded in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai (1825-1897) in Florence using highest quality Swiss mechanicals; to my understanding this is still a Panerai family business making top quality and visually stunning watches (IMO).
