I tried collecting watches, but then it getts to expensive. I personally wear an Omega seamaster, black on black, steal band, automatic. runs great after five years, probably have to adjust time a minute every two to three weeks. if you want the best watch that money can get (mechanical wise) get a Patek Phillip, you can find them at the south coast plaza. but good luck getting a watch, there are many too choose from. As for the new seamaster automatics, they are going to have the new coaxial movements, which bring the the price tag to around $2500-$3000. I like the new planet ocean from seamaster, but thats if you like orange on black.

I got the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 42mm w/ black bezel and orange numbers on a bracelet.

It comes in 42mm or 45.5mm case, with orange or black bezel, and white or orange numbers at 12, 6, and 9. It also is available with a bracelet, rubber strap, calfskin strap, or alligator strap (but they are not easily interchangable).

I got mine from an Authorized Dealer for under $2350 in my hand. PM if you want the info.

The watch looks like so:

I like it, and my brother likes it more than his Jaeger LeCouture (which costs over 3x as much). I personally like it better than my friend's Rolex GMT Master II because it has a larger case and I like it better than all of my friend's Cartiers and Rolex Date-justs, which are not sporty watches.

A few people I know just picked up some Panerais, but that is probably a bit to expensive if you're looking for a first watch.

Good luck!

PS - I'd think twice if you're considering a Tag Heuer. I haven't talked to anyone who knows about watches who considered those a good buy.

I'm all grown up so the watch was a better choice.
