even if you have a generally small wrist (6 inches or skinnier), i think rocking a big watch is fine if you have big forearms to make up for it. buddy of mine has a nice panerai and it's a pretty big face. big forearms give the illusion that you have big wrists. lol

I thought the same thing. I have REALLY thin wrists, so I thought it would look weird also, but when I went watch shopping and tried it on it looks fine (at least I think it looks fine). Go try it on, you will be surprised like I was.
