Racer - Where will you be working/going to school/etc.????? Being from the Bay Area, you know all about traffic patterns and that will also be a major consideration in moving to SC. There are many "nice places" to live in SC (e.g. South Orange County and pockets of LA County) but you really have to consider commute issues.

Here are the top cites in Socal:

Not in any order according to the news a few years ago:

1. Irvine
2. Woodland Hills
3. Palos Verdes

My favorites:

Irvine, Aliso Viejo. Unless you're buying a house, rent is HIGH in these 2 area. 1 Bedroom is about 1,400;2 Bedroom is 1,600; and 3 rooms is 1,900.00
