well... this is the step i took to teach my girl friend. first, i would suggest teaching her launching the car. have her familarize w/ clutch by press, hold then release in neutral. after, few minutes familarizing where clutch is.. have her press on the clutch again and put the gear in first. now make sure she doesn't release the clutch all the way. tell her to release clutch very slow just enough to feel the car movement.

after all this... you could teach her "how to use gas and clutch" by going uphill. you shouldn't have any trouble teaching her changing gears after all this.

the best way is to keep it stress free. stay away from uphill stops, traffic, left turns, dips and speedbumps, and dont pressure her. Make sure she wears tennis shoes (big shoes or tall shoes = less pedal feel).

Just give he a lot of seat time and she'll pick it up no prob.

There's a 1984 pickup truck in the Swap Meet section... awesome vehicle to learn on.

-Let her learn to recognize the clutch engagement point by slowly releasing the clutch in 1st gear with NO GAS. The S2000 will NOT stall. It might take some practice, but it can be done, and it's good to feel how the car "begins" to move.

-Remind her never to move the stick without the clutch in.

-BEFORE she ever bucks the car, tell her that if she ever gets to a point where the car starts shaking, she has 2 options: More gas, or put the clutch in. I guarantee there will be a time when she bucks the car, and won't know what to do.

-Oh yeah... and be patient

That's how I learned.. cause you really don't want her launching your car at 4-5k rpms. She needs to get a feel for the clutch first, and then after that, adding the right amount of gas is easy
