Not sure how to teach her on my car, since I think its harder to first learn on our cars over cars with more torque. Any suggestions?

go to rent-a-wreck and let her flog that over the weekend.
I have a similar problem.....GF knows how to drive a stick, but she's Australian and drives on the wrong side of the road, and shifts with her LEFT hand...
She drives an automatic pretty well when shes over here, but I've only let her drive the S once.....on a lonely side street.

Yea, I know of an empty parking lot that I am going to take her to. She is a good driver but since she has never driven a stick just want to be extra careful with my car.
I remember when I learned to drive stick on my Dad's NSX and man was that nerve recking. So I am going to try to not be paranoid or angry...we will see what happens....

Yup. The trick is throttle control. She'll have to be able to hold the RPMs steady while she learns where the clutch point is. My wife has so far been unsuccessful with the S, and the Celica before this. She was doing pretty well on the Suzuki Sidekick my parents had a few years back, but you could just let the clutch out while idling and it wouldn't stall that car.
Oh, and be prepared to smell a bit of burning clutch.

The reason I say find lots of open space is because there is a lot of pressure on her to get it right. Its hard to concentrate on the pedals if she has to look out for things. Trust me on this. I taught my wife stick on my old car and she was fine....in an OPEN parking lot. We bought a stick shift for her a few months later and when we got it home she asked to park it on our space. I was thinking to myself...she'll be fine..its only 15 feet away, she was great the last time we drove...etc, etc. Then soon after she creeped a few feet forward.....WHAM...she crashes it right into our wall. The look on my face was priceless. Since then she has vowed never to drive a stick again. Anyway..just make sure there isn't added pressure when you teach her....Good luck...you'll need it..hahahahaaaaaaa.
