So Cal job boards?
Hi So Cal folks,
I currently live in Nor Cal and would like to move to So Cal, which of course requires finding a job down there first. I've got profiles on the usual job boards -- Monster, CareerBuilder, and Dice -- but only get recruitment calls for jobs in the SF Bay Area, so I'm wondering if there are additional So Cal-specific job boards that I should post on. Can anyone recommend some?
For what it's worth, I've been working in tech (software) for the last 6 years and am hoping to relocate to either LA (anywhere between the SF Valley and Long Beach) or SD.
Thanks for any info.

wouldnt the recruiters getting your info from your accounts be calling you because you list your address in the north? why dont you say you are located in socal?
other than doing that, try craigslist.

I'm a recruiter, I use this site and monster to look for resumes, but I also post jobs on these sites. I probably wouldnt have anything for you, I really only have jobs for Engineering (civil/structural) people. Good Luck tho

Ive had good luck with IT on craigslist and dice.com. Throw your resume on monster, I haven't actively looked for a job since summer but I still get calls from recruiters every so often asking if Im still in the market.

Sweet, thanks very much for the suggestions, guys. I didn't know about the CalJobs site.
I've actually thought about using my cousin's address in So Cal in order to generate more interest down there. But since I currently work in the SF Bay Area, I wasn't quite sure how to explain the disparity between my home address and current employer's address to recruiters...
Anyway, thanks again, and please keep the input coming.

I'm a recruiter also...recruiters stick to where the money is...and that is local candidates.
You should list a SoCal address, and say that's where your family lives...then recruiters will call you, and let them know when you will be in So Cal. You will need to physically be in So Cal to interview etc before you see good activity.
