Default So Cal heat affecting performance?

Does anyone else feel a loss in power in the afternoon in socal? I have an AEM v2 and i still feel like my car is slower during peak heat hours. Youd think having a cold air intake helps, but when the temp is about 100 outside, i dont think anything helps!

Yes, I think I'm having too many carbs at lunch. Ohhhh...you meant the car? Nope, she runs good. I'm all stock, and I've run in ungodly heat in Fontana...never noticed a difference in power.

Really??? I'll bet you get better times at your "otto cross" thingy if you ran it on a cool evening.

Some nights I can just FEEL the car is running better. The best times are the day after it rains, when the air is cool and dense and full of power-adding oxygen molecules.

That's because you're distracted with looking too stylish to notice the power robbing heat.

That's quite true...more worried about my makeup melting off than the effect of the heat on the car. Of course, for a GOOD driver, a little loss of power is nothing.

Try the Mugen cooling mods, Hondata intake manifold gasket, and vented hood. It'll help some. If you think the heat is bad here, try driving in Vegas or Phoenix. I just came from Phoenix and it was 112 degrees. I burned my ass getting into the car and the gearshift pattern is permanently burned into my palm.

A picture? Sure! Here's one. Study it well, cuz it's the only view you'll ever have of me. Just imagine it more blurry...

Nice ass Samira, it looks like mine!

I sometimes think I feel a loss of power on those hot days and then on the really cool nights the car runs great. This is all butt dyno tested..
