Thumbs up SNORKELING: Orange County or San Diego County?

I have snorkeling gear that I want to use before the water gets too cold but have only snorkeled on vacations off Maui and in the Carribean. Does anyone have any recommendations of places off the Orange County coast, or even off the San Diego County coast? I think there's a good one off La Jolla but I'm not sure where.

Thank you,

Patricia.

i just went twice locally recently. la jolla cove is pretty cool. lots of leopard sharks (small sand sharks) and ghiribaldi. even saw a sea turtle. and very easy to access from the shore. park somehwere up the street (where all the snorkeling and kayak vendors are) and walk down and head left in front of the resort and just walk out from there.

we tried to go out from the cove near the park, but it wasnt as nice to walk out from. lotso f rocks nad lots of ppl and lots of waves. maybe it was because it was later i nthe day. but i didnt have fun seeing anything there.

i also went to shaws cove in laguna beach. not so much to look at there. seems more of a scuba place for ppl to learn and practice. but there are some wildlife. not as good as la jolla tho. nice water and beach to splash in tho.
