Default Smog Check

I'm due for a smog check and I need some help from you guys... My engine is misfiring cyl #3 = my CEL is on.. I don't have the funds at the moment to fix my engine, but I still do need to register my car. Does anyone have a hookup for a Smog Check place? That will pass my car? A higher price is fine..

There are ways to get around most anything, a CEL is about the worst thing you can have when trying to get around a smog test.

The test isn't simple? Can't reset it long enough to show a clear code for a bit?

I can reset it long enough to get the test done.. But when they plug in to check the ECU, won't it just show up again? I was hoping some one had a hookup where they don't even test the car.. Just sign off the papers

If it's the same with Arizona if you reset your computer their computer will read that you car is not ready and they will not test it. Just had this happen to me in AZ. My battery died since the car was sitting for months. When I flew down there to go do emissions they told me my car wasn't ready. I had to drive for about 180 miles to have it "ready" it was a pain in the ass. In your case it seems like you are SOL.

Yes this is true, if you reset it and try to test right away it will pickup on that. However, most obd2 cars ive seen is about 40 miles and it will not pickup on it. Also, a lot of times the CEL will turn on after a few driving cycles, not based on mileage or how repetitive the problem is(not in all cases though) so the best thing is to make the mileage and leave the car running and then have it smogged.
