just got a email this morning from (doubtful ) Cox wanting Emails, passwords and D. O. B.

From: kmwellendorf@cox.net
Subject: Dear Cox.Net Email Account Owner, This message is from Cox.Net MAIL MANAGEMENT messaging center to all email account owners. We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail account center.We are deleting all unused email account to create more space for new accounts.To prevent your account from closing you will have to update it below so that we will know that it's a present used account. CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL IDENTITY BELOW Email Username: .... Email Password: ..... D O B: ......... Alternative Email: ..... Warning!!! Account owner that refuses to update his or her account within Seven days of receiving this warning will lose his or her account permanently.Thank you for your understanding Cox.Net Email Management

wonder why they just dont ask for you check acct. Number or ask for a check to be mailed for a past due amount

I have a vague memory of getting a letter from Cox warning of phishing scams claiming to be Cox asking for email account names and passwords.

What scares me is people like my dad, he would totally reply with all of his info. Regardless of how much I warn him

THe other day he was all excited when I came over cause he got one of those Nigerian scam emails and he really thought he was a winner of some lottery
