my goal was to explain the concepts behind the reason each instruction is an integral part to why it works. For example, the PURPOSE of multiplying by 2 is to make sure any number chosen becomes an EVEN number, and the purpose of adding 5 is to transform all the even numbers to ODD numbers that have a difference of exactly 2 between each other. When multiplied by 50, this would cause the numbers to have a difference of exactly 100 between each other, in addition to resulting in all numbers ending in '50, as any odd number multiplied by 50 will end in '50. Thus, the 1755 or 1754 is a 'plug' that brings the number to the current year PLUS the number that was originally chosen, in the hundreds place. This amount less your birth year would yield ur age and the originally chosen number in the hundreds place.
It certainly takes out the 'wow' factor.
