Sepang Circuit Dream come true for a track junky
I travel to Singapore and Malaysia every year to take the kids to see their grandparents every year. I get to go to the F1 race at Sepang Circuit and it's great but I have always wanted to drive the track. Last year I rented a Lotus Elise for the day just to drive the track but it rained and I decided not to take the chance on a new track in a car I rented in a country where the laws are not the same as here. (Lotus Elise cost over $100K in Malaysia and I didn't want to pay that much if I did any damage to the car. Typically cars cost 2.5X what they cost here). It rains like everyday in Malaysia.
Well, this year the sun and the moon were lined up just right with all the stars. I contacted Sepang Circuit and just my luck, they had a track day. A friend loaned me his F430 Spider and off we went with a bunch of his buddies in the Porsche club. I got to drive a bunch of wonderful cars on at Sepang and man I'm now officially Spoiled!!! That track is Incredible!!! I have been to many tracks here in the states but nothing compares to Sepang Circuit. Talk about World Class FIA. We had AC in the garage (huge garages). With your track fee you get 2 pit crew guys that check out your car every time you come into the pits, You even get a good looking umbrella girl. I would have to say even the new Laguna Sega is a motel 6 and Sepang Circuit would be like the Bellagio.
Back to the track...I got to drive a bunch of cars including a Ferrari F430 Spider, F40 (what a car), Porsche 997 Turbo, 07 GT3, Carrera GT and my favorite a new 07 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car (had to get use to the sequential shifter). A bunch of people from the Japan GT series was there doing testing so we got to run with some pretty fast cars (Autobacs NSX was there). There was even an A1 team out there doing testing (Wow they are fast). We had a guy that drives in A1 there, he is the top instructor for BMW in Asia. He showed us around the track in the GT3 Cup Car passing most of the Japan GT cars even with a passenger. What an experience!!!
I didn't get to take many photos as I was trying to get as much track time as I could. I do have a few photos and will post them as soon as I figure out how or I can e-mail them to someone that can post them up for me on this thread, that would be great.

I do need a track fix and want to go very soon. When is the next event at Big Willow or Buttonwillow?
Next event I'll be at is Jun 3rd BW. I should have the motons and maybe a pass seat for that event.

Thanks for putting up the photos HunterEz. If you notice most of the cars are right hand drive (boy did that take some getting use to on the track). I had to look down when I shift to make sure I was in the right gear, shifting with my left sucks!
