sorry i am really bias and i don't know why i m just so anti-nissan...
get a used IS300 or something they are around 10k or less now, good daily, reliable, rwd, comfortable, quiet, cheap to maintain, its a toyota, their life is longer than hondas...
no no ... IS300 will probably only give you 24mpg the best, given all highway ...
get a 5-spd civic, it is fun to drive as a DD .....
i got mine DD for only 3500 dollars at 120k miles, now it is at 230k miles .... still running strong, with 39 mpg all freeway ... i commute 100 miles daily.

Honda FIT FTW!!!. I love it as my daily. It's cheap to maintain, great gas mileage, cheap car, and very useful.

Get the Fit, you wont regret it. I am commuting 80 miles a day 6 days a week. Handles well and the mpg is great! Not to mention you can fit a bunch of crap in there. Good luck!

I almost forgot,my buddy has an 02 Sentra Spec V. He bought it brand new. I think he had some problems with the starter, but other then that the car was okay.

i don't know why all these people are ragging on it. I had one my early years in highschool and it was an awesome beater. I took mine to carlsbad dragway for fun and it ran a 14.8 with intake, header, pully, cat-back. I also took it to streets of willow and it handled like a dream, i had JIC FLT-A2's with sway bars, etc. All while averaging 28mpg city/highway.

I wish i never sold it as a beater, it was awesome.
