John - often there is slow traffic near Monterey, especially on weekends. Just a thought. Also does anyone know of a fun road that goes inland (east ) from somewhere south of Atascedero? Is it 158 or 166? Going over the 33 from Taft to Ojai is nice. And there's that wild road from Cambria (Santa Rosa Canyon is it?) to consider.

Okay after reading Matts post about his friend, I have decided to take on doing both trips. I am going to have a great summer with awesome overnight runs with other S2000 owners.
A SB/Paso Robels trip and a Monterey trip.
Just so you know the SB wine tasting won, but only by 4 votes. Look for a new thread with updates on both trips.
