San Diego Zoo is good, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park has Museums and what-not.

fantastic eats everywhere, but if you will be close to downtown proper, you can't go wrong by going to the gaslamp quarter. Also a good night life in Gaslamp.

If you give some more details on what part of the county you'll be in, I may be able to point you to some specific, closer things.

There's just too many things to do in San Diego. If you want to go sight seeing, I propose you cruise San Diego's coast line. Coronado (don't forget to take the bridge so you'll get an awesome view of downtown), La Jolla (outstanding views of the coast line and you'll be able to visit the cliff caves), Pacific Beach (a local hangout for San Diegans' with awesome restaurants and bars), and Ocean Beach (a coastal town with cliff views). Don't forget to visit downtown @ night. Good luck crusin'.
