San Diego Hwy S2 Desert Cruise 2/20
There's been nothing much scheduled leading up to the big worldwide s2ki meet, so I'm taking the opportunity to do a repeat of our desert cruise last June. All you new arrivals in San Diego, this is your chance!
The last time was a blast! Here are the threads:
Great Southern Overland Stage Route test run
San Diego Hwy S2 Desert Cruise 6/6

The route:
This time we'll leave Sunday February 20 at 6:30 from the McDonalds off Via Rancho Pkwy near North County Fair, which seems to have become our favorite meeting place. If some want to schedule a Palomar side trip again we can arrange to hook up at Lake Henshaw. We will stop and regroup twice along the way, once at the Carizzo Badlands Overlook, and again at the Hwy 94 exit from I-8. We should reach Barrett Junction for a buffet lunch shortly after noon.
Looking for a good turnout. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I'm curious, how long will it take for the entire cruise, point-to-point?

I had timed the segments in the test run, but of course that varies with more people. If we leave at 6:30, I figure that including lunch we'll be back in San Diego around 2:30. That's about how it worked out last time.

During the last boba run, I remember Jay mentioned that he wanted to do a Julian run on the same day.

However, I think Ron should be rewarded by taking the initiative. We will postpone a Julian run to a later date.
Ron, your runs are always so organized Please sign me up for the desert run.
