Are there any good big open lots to practice with your car? I just started driving this car and i want to gain better control, etc.
If you know any places in SD where i can do this plz tell me!
Are there any good autoX lessons in SD? if so how much was the lessons?
Thanx

Qualcomm Stadium has autoX events what seems like every Saturday. Haven't done it myself, but I am sure if you just show up some one can give you all the info you need.

Honestly, I would suggest a track day! I happen to know someone that is an excellent navigator and teacher. And has a bullet proof stomach.
I am a sloppy driver and tend to get myself in trouble because of my lack of vision and control. Going to a track day (although eating tires badly) helped me to become one with my car.

Although.......N. County Fair might still have some donut/tire marks from when I put it to the test with a C5 Corvette I had for a loaner car. Hehehehe. We went very late at night and cruised around the lot to see if there was any security. After confirming the coast was clear, I let it rip in various scenarios.
Can't prove anything! Hahaha.
Generally mall parking lots are good because there's little to hit, unless they have those parking stall bumpers. Yuck. You just need to scope out the security first.
Legally, you'd have to stick to Auto-X or a track day, as suggested.

San Diego autocross:

MAY 23 WEST SDAD CHAMP
JUNE 6 WEST DCCSD CHAMP
JUNE 26 WEST SCAT PRACTICE
JUNE 27 WEST SCAT CHAMP
JULY 10 WEST SCNAX PRACTICE
JULY 11 WEST SCNAX CHAMP
So, you show up early to any "CHAMP" and buy a soloII card. They are $35. They only sell 25 per event, so get there before 7:30am. Then you pay $35 for the event (or $20 if you belong to the SCCA), go through tech (if your car is in street legal shape you are fine). Depending on what year you have, and what mods, you run in your class (stock 04 is AS, stock 00 - 03 is BS) and work another group. You get 3 runs at the course, and your times are ranked with everyone else in your class.
There are instructors available for bewbies, and you can get a loaner helmet if you don't already have one.
After you have a soloII card, you can do a practice event. At these you get 10 or more runs and get timed, but there are no rankings at the end.
You can only buy a soloII card at a CHAMP event.
I've done 3 events so far, and let me tell you, it is a lot of fun. I'm a much better driver since I started, but I still have a long way to go to be competetive.
