Same Sex Marriage
#45
Oh VERY CLOSE voting. Time for our society to realize that it is a different world we live in then our great-grandparents. Many other countries have come to terms with this topic and I feel it is high time the good 'ole US does the same.
If they are a couple who share their lives, live under the same roof, and go through all the same "life" issues as a so-called "regular" couple, then they should be entitled to the same benefits (health insurance, company, etc). I feel the benefits thing is what this boils down to anyway. Corporate America is against it because - lets face it - banning same sex marriage blocks out alot of people from certain benefits. Passing this issue will cost them alot....

Have you ever been down to Santa Monica Blvd just west of La Cienaga? Well, this is the only thing I'm against. That is, I wouldn't want to live in a world where you see gay ads everywhere. I wouldn't want it to get to the point where everyone is cool with Gays and we see this stuff everywhere.
How do Gays feel about their lifestyle being exposed to straight children? Would gays think that it's productive to their development?
I'm just posing this questions to get people thinking about real world situations in which Gay lifestyles are as common as straight ones.

However, putting religion aside for the sake of this debate, biologically and psychologically marraige should be between a man and a women for the benefit of their offspring.

In the same breath, to roll internet eyes (as trivial as it may be) at someone who posts something they believe in (whether influenced by the Catholic or other church or not) doesn't sit right with me. Just speaking my peace and I recognize we're all relative friends .
