No, try reading the New Testament.
Take a look at Philippians 4, 6-8.
(please refrain from using the "King James" version, unless
you are an English major. I suggest NIV, or NASB).
Verse 8 is one of my favorites.

Old testament is kinda wierd. I admit to not knowing a lot of it. But Jesus did say some of the old testament practices were unneccessary anymore.
"Unnecessary"?? Seems Jesus was apparently back-peddling.......even HE did not believe the Bible???? Liberal radical He was.......and He kinda was, in His day.....

Live by the Bible, die by the Bible. You cannot pick and choose what is legit. You either believe and accept or you don't.

I could quote lines of the Koran that would be HIGHLY offensive when paraphrased.
Things like "Kill or Convert all infidels."
A friend, prior to 9-11 and the whole mess being stirred he was reading lines he is fluent in English as well and what he read....was insane. I thought wow, this is some nut case cult.
This kind of thing could go on all day.

Good verse. I used to have almost that whole chapter memorized. NIV is a great version too.
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable
