S2Ki Socal Bowling League... any interest?
i used to bowl a grip in college (1998-2001) and loved it so much until i got so sick of it i havent bowled since....
i was thinking, since s2ker's like to loiter, why not do it and have some fun too?
i talked to the league coordinator at oak tree lanes (diamond bar) and i found out that we can form our own league... one of the best bowling alleys around, they have real wood floors and not crap synthetic... FTL
btw, doesnt matter if you suck, there is handicap...
here are some details...
1. we would need a minimum of 20 bowlers
2. teams of 4 would last 2.5 hours and teams of 5 would last 3 hours (we would need to vote on this)
3. since there are top downs on fri, IE on wed, i was thinking of tuesday nights from 8-11. we can start earlier but the price jumps to $10.75
4. it would cost about $9 for 3 games (this is a week) and possibly cheaper if we can get enough people... this will include rental for shoes...
5. if you decide to commit, all costs for the league will be collected at the beginning as you will have to pay even if you didnt show up (if we did the weekly pay)
6. shortest a league can be is 12 weeks. the coordinator pointed out that new leagues should start with 12 weeks as a lot of bowlers may end up getting tired of their teammates... lol
7. cost would roughly be $108 plus i was hoping to collect a little extra for prize money, so that it would help us stay competitive... maybe an extra $20 bucks a person?
8. we could probably start as early as next month (mid april?)
9. we can form teams later...
anyways, thats the jist of it.... let me know what you guys think....
ill start off a list....
