Default S2 won't start! NEED HELP!

Hey guys, last week I was heading over to clairemont on Kearny villa road and decided to punch it and feel the power of my awesome S. When all of a sudden by the time I got to clairemont I could hear a rattling noise from my internal/somewhat underneath the car. I only hear the sound whenever I hit 3000 rpm and up. There is no problem shifting, but when I'm on neutral I could still hear it when I rev up to 3000+. By the time I drove back home only 2 blocks away from my house my car just dies out of nowhere after taking the gear out to go neutral and i had to cruise it downhill back home. Now I can't even turn the car on! I doubt it's electric because everything still works on my car (dash, sound system, a/c, etc.). I only hear the clicking noise whenever I push the start button. =( Anyone have any idea what it could be/replace? Please help!!!!!

Pretty vague description. Is it under the hood? Under the car?

I hear a rattling under my car ever since I scraped a pretty high speed bump yesterday. My issue is probably just an exhaust problem because I only hear it when I shift. I probably cracked the resonator or something.

You should try disconnecting/reconnecting the battery first .

my wild 4 answers/guess

1. battery charge is to low/dead (cuz alternator)
2. alternator is dead (clicking noise, and battery not charging)
3. starter is dead ( everything work but car dont start)
4. cat popped and plugged the exhaust ( very unlikely, but that makes no sense ?)

hope that helps.

Sounds like you blew up the motor. U described at 3k rpms you heard noise. My guess that noise was rod knock. Then you drove the car after that and probably seized the crank from the spun rod bearing. Of course I cannot be sure unless I looked at it but that is my 2 cents from what is described.

i'd also check the oil level...if its too low..then you couldve seized the motor as well...

Of course we are all just guessing. But Alex's explanation makes the most sense based on your description. Good luck.

Sounds like a spun rod bearing or............Your starter came loose and is causing the rattle. (had it happen).
